GUIDES

  • MELANEE STIASSNY
    GUIDE

Melanee's life started in a cabin homestead in Haines, Alaska. Raised with 3 siblings her adventurous parents started them skiing and exploring early. Alaska's unforgiving weather and 30 years of backcountry skiing has humbled and shaped her into a person who listens to the mountains. Owning Chugach Adventures with her husband Ari, she operates as a raft, kayak & glacier guide in summer. As a veteran ski guide she continues to fine tune her skills through Avalanche & Snow Science education. She agrees with her brother Miles when he wrote at 9 , “I want to ski until I can't ski anymore.”

  • GEORGE CRIEGHTON
    GUIDE

George grew up skiing at Bogus Basin Ski Area, ID. His ski passion lead him to Utah, training on the U.S. Ski Team for three seasons. Following college he worked for the Forest Service in Alaska, pursuing ski objectives in some of the world’s largest mountains. For ten years he has lived above Girdwood, AK where he owns and operates his own ski tow rope, accessing tremendous terrain from his backyard. He teaches avalanche classes with the Alaska Avalanche School and guides for CPG. His guiding includes two seasons in Chamonix, five years in Iceland, and an extended Caucus Mountains trip.

  • CONNOR ROLAND
    GUIDE

Conor grew up skiing the Pacific Northwest’s old-growth draped slopes. Quickly finding his way to the summits of the Cascades, he set out to explore the west on skis. He spent two winters in Alta and Big Ski, the drier intermountain and continental snowpacks of the Rockies, before moving to Girdwood. The unique combination of roadside access in a maritime climate clicked immediately for him. He has spent the last five seasons developing his avalanche assessment, mitigation, and rescue skills on the Alyeska Ski Patrol. He continue to share his passion for safely sliding on untracked snow, and is excited about his new roles as a backcountry ski guide and avalanche instructor.
